As we're working with the final text of the doc, the devlog names will now be referred to as Patches or Fixes, rather than 1.X.
- General clarifications in general, I did my best.
- Fixed a large number of the math to work with smaller, easier to work with numbers. Hope everyone likes it.
- Damage now adds up instead of reducing POS, reifying the fiction of staving away damage through maneuvers, balance, stance, and deflection until the enemy finds an opening or you give away a break in your defense.
- Clarified across the board timings for Techniques. Added bespoke timings for Aflame, Regenerating, Poison, and a clause that a Kadungganan gets to figure out the timings of an effect first.
- Regenerating now heals 2 + Your Rank.
- Clarified “in range X” effects to be “at Range X”
- Removed all mentions of Partial Successes and replaced them with Success with Setbacks, Failures with Advantage, etc.
- Clarified that DMG is added to and reduced from Strengthened and Debilitated.
- Renamed Combo from Melee Attacks to CHAIN to avoid confusion on Combo and Combo Breaker Mechanics
- Clarified that Heal reduces DMG.
- Clarified that Finisher means you must use it for your Last Beat (meaning if you buy new Beats with Thunderbolts, you have to use the last beat for it anyway).
- Both Kadungganan and NPCs gain +2 POS now per Legend, which is as always transferred across Disciplines.
- Retraining on Legend up is now gone and replaced with a Retrain Downtime Action.
- Brought back rules for Slopes.
- Clarified Affinities: Vulnerabilities and Resistances now have clearer naming for them!
- Lunar Taming now grants +d8 while flanked and resistance to Gleaming attacks.
- Naga Mystic Battlegrab now also lets you ignore shallow water terrain
- Healer Vestments now heals +d4 equal to your Rank and is only 1/Riff.
- Mending Sash now heals d6 equal to your Rank.
Discipline Specific Changes
- Foot of Sagarawivara: Changed to triggering after a Rush.
- Clarified Gods Revel In Rivers: now says you get 2 Breaks outside of your Riff instead of just 1.
- Buwaya Lancer now has EVD 0, but has raised POS.
- Warrior Balyan’s Sanib now gives +d6 to Attacks and Defenses. Chant now gives a flat +2 to Attack and SPD but is now a Thunderbolt spend. Spirit Dance lets you teleport your Spirit Guide with a Beat.
- Spirit Guide now shares tiles with the ally on Saint.
- Gleaming Tribhuwana Taradewi Stance now has fixed lore bites.
- Invincible Sword Raider Stance now gives Merit instead of letting you add your SPI. As it stands, granting Merit is pretty rare, so this is still a pretty potent Signature Technique.
- Martyr’s Liberation is now Glorious Wrath.
- Starshooter’s Astral Volley is modified, forced movement now raises the Sipa Ball die but you only get Thunderbolts when your Sipa Ball collides. Rolling Thunder now only triggers against Ranged Attacks and you suffer half DMG instead of just 2d6. Sidereal Gunkick’s range is lowered.
- Heavenspear’s Thundering Spear now has the Fly as an optional part of it. Sky Rave’s flurry attack now ignores Combo Breaker.
- Kudyapi Strum is changed from an attack enabler into a particularly potent Control + Movement tool.
- Beast Hunter’s Traps all go away when triggered and you can only put down 1 each at a time. Additionally the Pet from Faithful Beast is now an Ally and no longer an Object.
- Sword Poet’s The Wings Of Love now lets you make a particularly punishing melee attack instead of inflict violence, though it’s now reduced to Burst 3.
- Swordfish Cavalier’s Ayir Udyong is now a ranged attack.
- Senapati: Imbue Bravery is clarified to now add DMG.
- Mender's Mentala Agas now has an end timing.
- Fixed the Starshooters overtuned Philosophy
- Fixed most +Legend techniques
- Added 1/Riff clauses to Strifesinger's Lost Song of the Raja
- Martyr's Crescent Blade now does d6+FER DMG
- Starshooter's Astral Drive is now just half SPD.
- Added timing to Senapati's Philosophy Inspire Valiance.
- KAWAL: Bakunawa Consumes The Moon is a pure immune now
- SWORD SAINT: Sword Judas is now a damage bounce as well.
- SARIMANOK KNIGHT: Manuel Angers The Sky now deals [Your Rank]d6 True DMG
- Added clarifications as to what Fighters, Allies, and Enemies are in the Mantras section
- Added a section that clarifies the Triple Cut (X/Y/Z numbers corresponding to Rank 1, Rank 2, and Rank 3)
- MURDERGLAVE: Censer has been reduced in range. Soul Eater’s healing is reduced.
- AFLAME AND POISONED are now just 2/4/6 DMG.
- A ton of other tweaks.
Enemy Changes
- Modified Enemy Stats and Stat Growth to work even better at higher levels.
- Revamped Encounter Design to be more clear and easier to grok, especially with changed Legends, using a base 10 system of calculation. Additionally, the expected number of enemies vs Kadungganan now is more or less equal to number of Kadunggan or Number of Kadungganan + 1.
- Chiefs now scale with Kadungganan stats again.
- Youxia’s Eight Headed Dragon Blade now rolls d8. Still doesn’t add FER—it’s meant to interact with Juggled. It’s too powerful if it did add FER.
- Renamed the Medium Enemy Sage to Saint
- Added an EVD column to all Enemies.
- Fixed Sundermonk’s Gambits.
- Fixed Assassin’s Gambits.
- Fixed Hexer’s Statblock.
- Patianak’s Clattering Ghost has been rebalanced.
